How to mount my bucket seats ?
Right, Im planning on fitting my classic cobra, low back bucket seats this weekend. Cant wait, there going to look so cool .
Im not sure how to mount them though ?
They have seat sliders but the current seat adjuster on the floor of the beetle, means that there isnt a flat surface to mount them on .
How has anyone else mounted their seats ?
Any advise is appreceiated.
Thanks

this is each to his own but i ripped out the original seat mounts from the floor and went to a metal merchant and got 3mm thick stainless mounts cut and angled to fit porsche seats. the only consideration was finding out where on the floor pan these can be fixed to, and where in relation are the fixing points for the seats/runners. cost me around £40 for 4.
arn't finished as i want to have cross members holding them together/apart.
why mess about with specific subframes that often cost the earth. this is such a simple concept..... you can have any seating angle, as long or short as you please, they can be as close together or apart as you wish, can be fitted to any vehicle as long as you find fixing points that you can use.
these fit fine on my ghia floor

I mounted our Alfa seat runners on two cross pieces fitted across the front box section of the normal 3 point seat and welded to the tunnel and bolted to the heater tube flange. The rear support is a hoop section so that back seat passenger can get their feet under, that is fitted through the runners on each side. The whole assembly is light, supports the seats firmly and also stiffens the floor pan considerably

These are my frames I custom made for some Skyline R33 seats
My seat frames
These are bolted to the floor thru spreader plates and aren't going anywhere.
No offence to Amysbug but surprised the MOT guy passed those frames. Very clever idea don't get me wrong but in a crash the outer edge will bend towards the tunnel and may well shear from the tunnel but I do love the elegance of the design
