Default B289 Peppermint Dream resto...

I finally got the chance to buy my favourite bug from way back in the day last week, so i did!!

Now i need to restore it before Bug Jam and get it in the show.... my girlfriend wants to learn how to work on cars so this is gonna be a kind of journal from both of us, so you get the real story from both sides of the coin

I bought it from a very nice chap who had saved it from being broken for parts but had no time to do it himself and sold it to me for a very modest sum.
Thanks Neil

Right enough of the schpiel, here is the car, as purchased today

Having a wash, cheers Shaun

Here is some of the rust we will be playing with, in at the deep end

waiting quietly for surgery,

1st job is to put a new heater channel and post + relevant surrounding welding on the passenger side, then sort the gutters out, and spin it round and put new floor and channel in on the drivers side..... well that was easy to say

no worries mate, glad its gone to a good home and not to the scrap yard ... and best of luck.

I should have cleaned it though , look at the difference, maybe then that price would not have needed to be so modest
