over to Sara "The Hat"
Well following a whistle stop training session I received in power tools I was permitted to handle the angle grinder. In depth instructions included 'hold this button down and don't cut your hand off'. Needless to say I was woefully unprepared for the noise, sparks and general terror that handling a machine that could easily cut me in half could actually inspire.
But after the first couple of hours of wrangling, I was finally getting the hang of it all. I started by filling down the rear wheel arch and then just generally following around after Karl and his welding. So next I attempted the framehead and the bulkhead to varying levels of success.
Then I got busy with the most pungent sealant to smooth over those unsightly lumps and bumps whilst the fumes took me to new and interesting places in my mind!!
Once we got that out the way I got on with the zincing of the rear wheel arch and made that look all pretty and red whilst handily protecting the car from future rust nastiness.
Anyway, back to Karl and the really important stuff.
red or dead
sealed bits,

finished off 99 percent of the passenger side structual welding today,
another shot of the framehead,
and finally re hung the wings to check it all still went back together,

it did
rested the seats inside to get a bit of a feel for the finished article,
More to come tomorrow night, last little bits on the passenger side and then its gutter time, not looking forward to that at all...

its a joke the amount of money spent on these 'show cars' and then not that long later they jus get left to rot and die especially as a lot of these cars are trailor queens or not driven in the wet! ahwel maybe i expect too much lol!
