Default 1303 porka looker almost ready for MOT!!!

Please don't be too harsh, this is my first attempt at a resto. My car is a 1303s 1973. I have porka type kit to go on!!

The rear end had new stud line, new lower quarter panel, new bumper mount panel grafted in. Panels filled and partially smoothed before protective cover of primer was added.

front quarter has had lower rear panel new strut mount panel and I manufactured the strut cup from sheet. Front bumper mount and various small patch panels grafted in. Covered in whatever paint I had to sop the rust! Front valence is also welded in now although not on this pic.

Rear valance is welded in

All the work here and two new pan halfs welded in and pan POR15'd has taken 1 year so far No hurry I suppose

Update!!

Progress so far

All blending done, de-seamed and primered with Zinc Phosphate

Espescially proud of my rear quarters

And finally with the Porka wings on

Can't decide wether to blend the wins into the body or use wing beading?

Thought it was way too long since my last post on my project!!!

Here is a brief look at my progress, it isn't as quick as I would like but I am happy with the way it is starting to look

here is a look at my refurbed and painted floor pan just before I re-introduced floor and shell

Jumping forward, here is the rolling shell

And finally as I left it last!

I intend to cut the bonnet along the nose and flange it sraight back to meet the bumper. I decided to smoothe the wings in and used fibbreglass mat with filler skim over it.

Nice work with the de-seaming. Looks really straight.

Cheers, it took me ages, 2" cuts, weld , flat off then move to the next 2" ! then the filler. I am not sure I would do it again, it would have been a lot quicker to clean up the gutters

Default update time!

Thought it was time to show you all where I am with my rebuild now.........

This is my second attempt at spraying, the first needed rubbing back as it was too dry! It had a lot of texture to it in other words!

To say I am chuffed is an understatement!

**TOP TIP**

For my second attempt I got a mate who is trained to paint to show me set up and technique. I had read about it on the net etc but was sooooo much better having him cast a critical eye.
