It looks like a '67 that has had upright wings and US bumpers added sometime in the past, probably to make it look American-spec? The bumpers don't seem original as they are lacking the holes in the front valance for the support bars. The car is also 5-stud and missing the fuel filler flap
If it is an original UK car, it should have sloping lamps and blade bumpers with over-riders.

Cheers Alex, as ever budget will dictate what gets done, however I'm considering getting both sets of wings painted and also getting the towel rails re-chromed so i can vary the look. Will get in touch with Pete, have already got lovely shiny t-bars from him, but the wheel sounds the business.

Thanks for the comments Howard, not sure what's been changed on the car but certainly know that it was registered 01 August '67 and a late 67 model year car from the chassis number. Was given photos along with the history of the original owner with it in the late 60's and it's just as I bought it, but there might have been a few early changes made to the car.

The whole house smells of it now Graeme after I stripped the remainder of the interior out on Saturday! Getting it away to get it trimmed this week, first major job done :-)

Late August, so technically it should be a late model!
It could be one of the strange 'cross-over' models where the factory used up earlier parts and sold the cars at a discount. I've seen a couple of these before. Or it could be an early car that failed to sell, so the dealer fitted a pair of upright wings to make the car look newer
If you take a look at the chassis number, does it start 117- or 118- ?

117- Howard, 67 is such a bloody confusing year.
I know it doesn't have the original doors, am desperately trying to source a pair of good 67s with the smaller finger recess, but I'm 'geographically challenged' for collecting a lot of these things!

nice car Looks tidy. Doesn't it need much structural work, i.e. heater channels, rear members etc? I say stick with the uprights!
