I sneaked out to the garage last night for a fiddle (on a school night too!) I cut off the corner repairs I'd made and managed to persuade it into a position that I was happy with. All I need to do is re-make a front plate and weld it on before fitting the bulkhead back in place. When it is in position, I'll make some new corner pieces and fit them in situation, custom made to perfectly match the channels. So in short - I'll do it myself ....
gonna end in tears.

What are those intergrips like to work with? Are they as useful as they look?

The intagrips are great for making sure the two panels are aligned for butt welding and even give an element of grip where it is difficult to use mole grip type clamps. They can be a bit fiddly at times but generally they are great.
One issue though is that the blade that fits between the panels is a thickness that puts the panels a bit too far apart for comfort, for me anyway. I like butt welding when the panels are touching or almost touching. With the intergrips, they end up being 1mm apart increasing the chance of blowing holes due to a longer weld cycle.
When I did the rear quarters, I cut small hollows in one panel where I was going to use them so the two panels could sit snug again and that seemed to work.
Also, be aware that they are only useful when you can access the rear of the panel.
Handy kit to have around though.

Ace work
Have you come to a conclusion about the rear body mounts yet? I'll be getting to doing them sometime this summer on mine. I'm thinking the repro body mounts are OK, although the metal they are welded to is pants.

Nope
I can fabricate everything except the shock tower clearance cup - for this I need a dish of steel. This is also the part that gets all wrinkled on the repro ones.
Genuinely don't know what to do as it's not a part that can easily be made and I can't imagine finding a pair that are rot free enough to use but aren't actually attached to somones car.
We can't all be as fortunate as GermanLKManx...
Dunno.

Will they just weld on, if you find some decent ones then? I was under the impression the inner wing changed, with a larger cutout to fit the reinforcement plate to? The smaller early style reinforcement plate appears smaller to me. Perhaps it isn't?
We can't all be that lucky, sadly. Still, I've found some 1/4 panels for mine, so it is all go as soon as I get my hands on them

Yes, the arch area has a smaller cut out on the early panel. Just weld it up to the desired size. No problem.
GermanLKManx (aka bloody lucky sod) is sending me some templates. We'll see.
First I've got to navigate my way through the dark and gloomy forst of the front bulkhead....

I've got that one to do too. I'm aiming to replace one of my front 1/4s first though. The body has no strength in it at the present.
Hopefully I'll be getting the same templates
