| Chat / Discussion Kind of like a VW Club Online you can sit in our virtual pub and talk about whatever you want to. All opinions are valid, but no insulting (to more than our intelligence), abusive or libellous posts. Please feel free to post your opinion on any given subject, but also be aware that the other 7 billion inhabitants of this planet have the equal right to disagree with you - and some will certainly tell you so.
No 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads too (please use the 'Dude! What's My Car Worth?' forum) . . . and please don't use JUST to post links to other VW Forums/websites - we are aware that other sites exist (obviously), but blatant 'plugs' (poaching) will simply be deleted. |

Would you go on a fuel protest?
Just wondering how many people on here would go on a fuel protest, there seems to be strong feeling about the cost of fuel, but how mnay would get up and actually protest about it?

No.
It's a waste of fuel and I don't want to spend any more time sat in traffic than I need to.

Yes . . . but it would need to be a 'good' one . . . one that caused maximum 'upset' . . . 3,000 VWs clogging up Westminster or Trafalgar Square or something

What about the Sunday 22nd of June then. Everyone meets along the embankment and then drives past Parliament.

*dons flame-proof suit*
As a full-time cynical fucker, I wouldn't.
As much as I admire the proactive spirit, and the fact it's not a crappy "don't buy fuel" thing or a meaningless pet1tion, I can't help thinking it's every bit as futile.
I mean look at the national protests that happened a few years back - where'd that get us? A token reduction in price which had been eek'd back up to the same levels and beyond less than 6 months later.
I personally believe we've hit the point of no return, nothing we can do short of a full-scale revolution can make a real, lasting change to the way we get charged for stuff. It's too late. All we can practically do is make the best of our situation as it unfolds. IMO, of course.
Lazy? Nope.
Disillusioned? Too fucking right....
