Seeing the sprints... Crystal Palace are going to be running an event at the May bank holiday with a sprint... anyone interested... I think a few people might have a go... http://www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk/

More than a decade since the last wheel turned in anger, the sound of racing engines will once again echo across Crystal Palace Park. On Sunday 30 and Monday 31 May, Motorsport at the Palace is pleased to announce two full days of high octane action, with GT cars, single seaters and performance saloons battling an array of classic racing machines for the title of fastest car at the Park.

Many of the cars running will not be strangers to Crystal Palace, having raced at the track in its heyday, when it stood alongside Silverstone and Brands Hatch as one of Britain’s finest race tracks. And while the new track layout has been purpose-built for this year’s event, it incorporates some of the legendary features of the old circuit: Pond Hairpin, the Terrace Straight and the infamous North Tower Crescent will test drivers and machines, just as they tested the likes of Stirling Moss and Jim Clark all those years ago.

The daily format will see two practice sessions start at 9am, followed by two sprint sessions against the clock, with the best result counting towards the final placement.

A range of prototype electric vehicles will also be competing alongside the traditional, petrol-powered cars, offering a glimpse of things to come, both on the race track and the road.

And those seeking a break from the action can take a stroll around the open paddock, watching mechanics at work, chatting to the drivers and generally soaking up the racing atmosphere.

Other attractions across the two days include:

the AA heritage collection;
numerous car club displays showing their very best vehicles;
live commentary, including interviews with competitors and VIP guests;
plus a number of specialist retail strands.

The last time I got a bus I did a sprint (to it - not a timed run! )

I'd go as a spectator, but having the option to have a go will be better.. Do you know what the MSA License requirements are for a sprint event such as this - think it only needs to be a 'Non-race Class B' License - under £30, no doctors requirements so just a simple application process for anyone who doesn't have a race license.

Have you ever spoke to lee? Lees has helped me out quite bit over the last few years, answering my thousand and one questions. I recently phoned him enquiring about some new bits. He told me straight that I was wasting my time and weren't best for my application. He turned down over £300 of business. His words were 'i'm a enthusiast first and a business second'
Most people today wouldn't do that. I have a lot of respect for lee, he's a top guy. Quite frankly it fucks me off when people join a thread half way through and leave a stupid, harsh, cocky comment for no apparent reason.
Again. COCK.

Right I've had enough of this bollocks now. No more writting. Pics or videos only
